The Blouse Inspired the Necklace

Design inspiration can come from unlikely places.

I recently made several necklaces that were inspired by floral blouses currently hanging in my closet. The colorful and vibrant prints motivated me to create a trio of necklaces that I can’t wait to share!

A Nordstrom blouse in gorgeous drapey fabric inspired me to create a necklace using rose quartz and pink satin beads and an unusual carved wood bead I have had for some time. The long satin bead is actually from drapery trim I found at Vogue Fabrics in Evanston, IL. Can’t wait to wear them together!

I love this color combination, especially as found in this splashy floral blouse from Kohls. The top inspired this coordinating amethyst and copper bead necklace:

A fall blouse deserves a fall necklace

This top from Lucky Brand in warm fall colors inspired this fall necklace. I used more drapery trim, handmade polymer clay acorns, and crystal beads.

This is just to show that design inspiration can come from unlikely places, including the clothes you already have. I plan to post more design ideas in the future to inspire your DIY creations!
